*Generally speaking, Figo will cover necessary dental procedures, assuming all vet-recommended exams and cleanings are up-to-date. The specific language used to describe what dental procedures are considered eligible expenses for insurance coverage is specified per policy and varies by provider. Here is Figo's latest definition: Endodontic Treatment for dental Injuries, such as root canals and crowns, where deemed Medically Necessary. These Treatments are subject to review and approval by Our Medical Director. We will reimburse You for the cost of Treatment Your Pet receives in the current period of insurance for an Illness or Injury that first showed Clinical Signs after the end of the Waiting Period and Treatment required due to Dental Illness and Injury, subject to Policy limitations and exclusions. To receive Dental Illness Coverage, You must follow Your Veterinarian’s advice regarding dental care, including but not limited to, an annual dental exam and any related Treatment recommendations.

Routine Care Add-Ons

Figo offers a separate policy rider for wellness coverage known as "Wellness-Plus Powerups." For an additional monthly fee, policyholders can claim:
  • Wellness exams
  • Vaccinations
  • Spay/neuter procedures and teeth cleaning
  • Flea and parasite prevention
  • Tests (blood panel, fecal, heartworm, urinalysis, FeLV)
  • Microchipping and health certificates
  • Deworming
  • Dental treatments
The amount you can claim for Wellness is subject to the limits defined in the benefit schedule based on the tier of your chosen plan. Per-incident copays, deductibles, and co-insurance do not apply.In addition to the wellness rider, Figo offers additional riders known as Extra Care packs, which include:

Enrollment Requirements

  • Minimum age at enrollment: 8 weeks
  • Medical Review: Records are requested at the time the first claim is filed
  • Valid United States address: Your pet must reside with you at the primary address you list for your insurance provider
  • One time enrollment fee: Applies to all new policies

Waiting Periods

  • Accidents: 1 day*
  • Illnesses: 14 days
  • Cruciate Ligament Injuries: 6 months
  • Hip Dysplasia: 6 months
  • Orthopedic Conditions: 6 months for dogs

*The waiting period for accidents can be up to 3 days for those with pet insurance in certain states. Check the specific terms of your policy's details to confirm the actual effective date of coverage.

How to File a Claim with Figo

  • Claim Step 1

    1) Choose a Plan:

    Select a policy that fits your pet's needs and your budget.
    Use PIPA's free tool to see if Figo is the best option for you and your pet(s).

    2) Pay Upfront:

    Visit any licensed veterinarian in the U.S. or Canada and pay the vet directly when your pet needs care.

    3) Submit Claim:

    Claims can be submitted through one of the following Figo channels. The window to file is 180 days.

    4) Get Reimbursed:

    Figo processes claims within 30 days of receiving them but states that its goal is 7–10 business days. Payments can go directly into your bank account via ACH to make the reimbursement process faster.
