NOT COVERED
Embrace Pet Insurance will not pay for costs associated with or resulting from the following:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Breeding, pregnancy and whelping
- DNA testing or cloning
- Cosmetic procedures such as ear cropping or declaw removal (unless medically necessary)
- Stem therapy that is not medically necessary
- Injuries caused deliberately by you or any person who lives in your household
- Injuries or illness caused by fighting, racing, cruelty or neglect
- Avian flu or nuclear war
Routine Care Add-Ons
Embrace also offers a non-insurance, optional add-on benefit called Wellness Rewards. Pet parents are reimbursed 100% up to the selected annual allowance. There are three annual allowances: $300, $500, and $700. You can use this wellness allowance for any of the eligible items, including:
- Wellness exam fees
- Vaccinations
- Microchipping
- Flea, tick and heartworm preventatives
- Nutritional supplements
- Spay/neuter surgery
- Fecal and routine blood tests
- Grooming (including toe nail trimming)
- Medicated shampoos
- Routine anal gland expression
- Gastropexy
- Preventative teeth cleaning
- Prescription diet food
- Training
- Hip dysplasia exams, radiographs or other OFA testing
- Routine chiropractic care
- Reiki, massage therapy and acupuncture
- Wearable pet activity monitors
- Cremation or burial
Enrollment Requirements
- There is a $25 enrollment fee
- The maximum age for enrollment in full accident and illness coverage is 14 years
- Pets older than 15 are eligible for an accident-only policy
- The minimum age for enrollment is six (6) weeks
- Pets must have been examined by a licensed veterinarian within the 12 months before the policy start date
- If there is no noted exam prior to the policy start date, an exam is required within the first 14 days of the policy
- Pet parents can cancel policies immediately over the phone with no penalty
- Claims must be submitted within the policy year plus 60 days

- Illness: 15 days
- Orthopedic: varies by state but typically 6 months (can be waived with an orthopedic exam)

How to File a Claim with Embrace
1) Choose a Plan:
Select a policy that fits your pet's needs and your budget.
Use PIPA's free tool to see if Embrace is the best option for you and your pet(s).
2) Pay Upfront:
Visit any licensed veterinarian in the U.S. or Canada and pay the vet directly when your pet needs care.
3) Submit Claim:
Claims can be submitted through one of the following Embrace channels:- Mobile App
- Website (Online Portal)
- Fax
4) Get Reimbursed:
Most claims are processed between 10 and 15 days with a direct deposit option for receiving reimbursements. The reimbursement amount will depend on your plan's coverage.
